Our Ambassadogs
We would like to introduce you to some of our Ambassadogs. These are clients who have continued to share their journey with me as they have grown and matured into well rounded dogs.
Storm & Trooper
"Storm and Trooper are very active dogs and have have attended many of DDS training classes including: Puppy, Junior, General Obedience, Trick Training, Loose Lead Walkers, Recall, Whistle Workshop and Paddle Pups.
Storm has passed her level one IMDT grade and is well on the way to level two and she has also done Rally Obedience.
They both continue to enjoy swimming and Amanda is helping me train them to rescue and gain boat confidence.
They have both gone on to do extra training and qualifications including Search and Rescue and Sniffer Dog Trials.
They now also go caravanning and they love it!!"
Bear
"We rehomed Bear at 3 months old from a not great first home after he was imported from Poland. We had previously done some short courses with Derbyshire Dog Services so knew who we wanted to support our training journey with Bear. As he's a large strong breed we knew good, force free training would be essential. Bear started with puppy classes, then juniors as well as rally obedience, paddle pups, loose leaders and grade classes over the past two years. He has turned into such a well natured dog and behaves beautifully (mostly!)
We get comments everywhere we go about how well trained he is and this has allowed us to travel extensively with him, including around Europe. We also trust Derbyshire Dog Services to walk him every weekday. Bear is such a special dog and DDS have helped us so much to make him the dog we dreamed of that we can take anywhere.”
Rosie
"We got Rosie aged 7 weeks in a very poor state, she was just 3kgs and not properly weaned. She is half Staffy and half Great Dane. She is now a very healthy 34-35kgs and thriving.
We first met Amanda at DDS 5 years ago and Rosie loved her from day 1! Amanda walks Rosie for us and she has also had some general obedience training. Rosie loves Amanda and can't wait for her car to pull up on the drive.
We noticed Rosie struggling with walking which Amanda carefully managed until we got a diagnosis of severe arthritis. Luckily there was a new non-invasive vaccine that they suggested we try - and boy! It's a miracle - Rosie can run like a racehorse and is able to fully enjoy her walks again.
We are currently having some training for Rosie's separation anxiety, Amanda is an absolute diamond helping with this, bit by bit we are seeing great improvements. We love our Rosie and are so glad we found a caring, fully trained dog walker/sitter/trainer in Amanda to help us with Rosie's complex but adorable personality".
Sasha
"Sasha is a 4 year old Eurasier, quite a rare breed in the UK. We were very lucky to have her as her mum suffered illness in her pregnancy; but thankfully she went on to have 9 gorgeous puppies. It was during Covid that Sasha came to us and we were able to train her outdoors with Amanda. It was great to be able to socialise Sasha an we learnt valuable skills such as Loose Lead Walking and General Obedience. We then went on to the Junior Classes and later attending the Swimming sessions.
All of Amanda's classes are fun and force free. We also love attending the DDS fun days, such as the Christmas Pawty and the Festivals.
When Sasha was 2 years old she passed her assessment to become a Therapy dog, which we are so proud of and it is very rewarding"
